CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - NOW AVAILABLE TO TREAT MOST PATIENTS!
In light of the current coronavirus situation, I am following the most up to date Joint Guidance provided by The British Society of Audiology, the British Academy of Audiology, the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists and the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals. This guidance has been collated with input from the Infection Control Society and ENT UK.
According to their latest recommendations dated 30 June 2020 it is now permitted again for private practitioners to treat patients provided they do not have any ongoing or recent coronavirus symptoms. I also cannot currently treat patients who have a perforation of their eardrum. The coronavirus does not live in the outer ear canal but if there is a perforation present then coronavirus can be spread that way. In that case you would be asked to contact your GP for referral to the ENT department at your local hospital.
As is my normal practice, I adhere strictly to infection control guidelines taking additional precautions during the coronavirus pandemic by wearing a fluid repellent face mask and gloves as well as the usual surgical loupes. I recommend that you should ideally attend alone or, if necessary, with one member of your own household. I would ask that you attend also wearing a fluid repellent face mask or face shield visor and to use the hand gel provided on entry to the treatment room. Your temperature will be checked prior to any procedure.
To ensure that your contact time spent at the clinic is kept to a minimum I use telephone triage to discuss your symptoms and medical history prior to your visit. I will explain the procedure to you over the phone and discuss the informed consent form with you. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have.
I confirm that neither I nor anyone living in my household has had any symptoms of coronavirus infection.

Welcome to Essentials Ear Care. My name is Daniela Jones and I am a Registered Nurse with additional training in ear microsuction and irrigation.
Over recent years many GP surgeries have stopped providing the often requested ‘ear syringing’. This used to be one of my favourite jobs as a practice nurse because patients usually went home happy that their hearing had been restored. However, the need is still there. Patients tell me that blocked ears are very uncomfortable or that their hearing aid audiologist has requested that any excess wax is cleared before their appointment. In addition to Ear Irrigation, I have therefore undertaken training to offer Ear Microsuction, a safe and effective procedure.
I provide a high quality professional ear wax removal service with your safety and client confidentiality as the priority. As a Registered Nurse I abide by the Code of Conduct of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and I am on their Register of General Nurses - Adult. I am a member of the Royal College of Nursing and I maintain professional indemnity insurance through them.

Home visits to housebound patients may be available at a supplementary charge of £10 to Yateley, Sandhurst and Crowthorne. For Wokingham, Farnborough, Fleet, Frimley, Camberley, Twyford, Swallowfield, Aldershot and Bracknell the home visit fee is a supplementary £20. Home visits at a greater distance can be arranged by agreement. I accept payment by cash, debit/credit cards or cheque.
